Treasure Untold

What do you think this poem is about? Trust, love or some other meaning?

Treasure Untold

He said, "Place it on the pedestal of your heart

It’s that thing worth more than gold

Hidden in the deepest parts of the earth

A treasure untold."

He said, "Everyone looks for it,

But no one wants to find

For if they find this secret,

Surely, they’ll run and hide

Because its load is heavy

Its burden not light,

And if you carry it for a short time

You’ll grow faint by night."

I carried it anyway,

Because I wanted all there was to gain

I didn’t realize however,

It would cause me such pain

But the truth about this secret,

Is that when you unlock it, surely you will find

That thing we all long for –

Hidden in mankind.
